As stated in
our mission statement, Comprehensive Engineering Services, Inc. will build “upon
exemplary professionals who pledge unmatched performance and unparalleled
quality to clients in a broad spectrum of engineering services”. The management
team also believes in cross training over several engineering disciplines to
build diverse capabilities to benefit the firm and the individual. CES
provides a unique environment for professional growth and development due to our
diverse experience with clients throughout the State of Florida. CES currently
provides services to the Florida Department of Transportation in six Districts,
numerous Cities, Counties and private sector clients. Services include highway
design, signalization design, highway lighting design, traffic control plans
(for maintenance of traffic during construction), signing and pavement marking
design, drainage design, connection permitting, traffic studies and analysis,
transportation planning, land development, stormwater management, field
construction assistance, environmental permitting and expert witness testimony.

The details of CES’s employee
benefits are as follows:
Location
CES
is located in the heart of downtown Orlando in class A office space with a
panoramic view of the City from the 13th floor of the Seaside Plaza Bank Building on the
corner of Church Street and Orange Avenue.
Pay
1.
All CES employees are paid electronically on a biweekly schedule using direct
deposit to accounts of the employee’s choosing. All salaried employees are
eligible for straight time overtime pay.
2.
Incentive bonuses are paid to employees in addition to salary, based upon
profitability of the firm and employee performance. Bonuses are considered to
be an important part of the compensation package.
Parking
The
cost for employee parking in Downtown Orlando is paid by CES. Covered parking
is free 24 hrs per day, seven days per week. You will find that this is a nice
benefit due to the Downtown activities you may wish to participate in.
Retirement
Plan
CES
maintains a qualified retirement plan with a mandatory company contribution to
participants who qualify. As with any qualified retirement plan, any
contributions by the employee or the company and growth from investments are tax
deferred. The company has elected to contribute a percentage of each qualified
employee’s salary (regardless of the amount contributed by each employee). CES
strongly encourages each employee to defer income
for retirement but does not
penalize employees who choose to participate only for the Company contribution. Employee and company contributions are transferred electronically on a monthly
basis simultaneously with the last paycheck received for the month. This
provides an additional benefit to the employee by having their money begin working without delay.
Insurance
CES offers complete comprehensive
insurance coverage for each full-time employee as follows:

Complete comprehensive health insurance coverage for each full-time
employee and their families. Employee contributions are based on how much an
employee makes so families starting out pay the least amount. Employee contributions towards health care are pretax dollars through a Cafeteria Plan.
Health insurance is available from United Healthcare, which allows open access
to all physicians including specialists within the plan without prior
authorization from a primary care physician (no gatekeeper). The plan also
provides coverage for prescription drugs and for utilizing physicians outside
the network.

Company paid life insurance.
3.
Company paid short term and long term disability insurance.
4.
Workers compensation insurance is provided to all employees for coverage
of on the job injuries.
Vacation
Time
Vacation time is accrued biweekly
and in the following amounts:

0-5 years – two weeks

6-12
years – three weeks

> 12 years – four weeks
There is no vesting period for vacation accrual. Accrued hours can be used as
accumulated.
1.
Seven paid holidays are provided each year. Additional paid holidays are
often granted at the discretion of the President.
2.
Time off for personal reasons, illness, bereavement and jury duty is
allowed as needed.
Professional
CES
covers all fees associated with membership in professional societies. In
addition, any fees for professional engineering registration (including exam
fees) and engineer City and County occupational licenses are paid by CES.
Continuing
Education
Reimbursement for educational costs is provided where appropriate. The Company
pays all expenses for seminars and conferences for professional development.
Travel
CES
covers all costs for travel for Company business and reimbursement for mileage
on personal automobiles at the current IRS rate.
Support
Resources
State-of-the-art resources are provided to assist each employee to perform
his/her duties. CES is a relatively young firm and our growth has paralleled
the recent technology boom. CES uses the most up to date equipment for computers, printers, digital photography, digital office telephones, voice mail,
email, Internet access (a bound T1 3mbits/sec access) and cellular telephones. The
most current versions of software for operating systems, CADD, engineering
analysis and administration are maintained. From our telephone system/computer
network integration to the way we electronically input time sheets into our
accounting system, CES has a strong commitment to technology.
Associates Program
CES
has a formal Associates Program and Associates Profit Sharing Plan. The
Program is intended to provide
special recognition and financial reward to those employees who make
continuous and significant contributions the
success and growth of the firm and who have demonstrated continuous
loyalty and dedication to the success of
CES.
In addition to receiving special “profit sharing” distributions the
Associates provide advice and counsel to the
CES Board of Directors on issues that affect the Company or its employees.
Health Club
Membership
CES contributes to a health club memberships at two facilities. If any
employee wishes to participate they are asked
to pay just $10 toward the monthly membership.
Recreational &
Charitable Activities
There are many recreational, community and charitable organized
activities in which our employees participate from
time to time. The company encourages these activities and covers the
costs (i.e. golf, softball, volleyball, bowling,
5k run/walks, MathCounts, Engineer for Day, etc.).
Social Activities
CES
has an annual Spring Family Picnic and Christmas Party. The Christmas
Party includes door prizes and awards
for employee achievements for the previous year.
