4th Street at Magnolia Avenue Signalization

This project included design and construction (Design Build) of a new mast arm signal with 4th Street at Magnolia Avenue Signalization pedestrian features to replace an existing span wire signal. The design utilized four single mast arm assemblies which aesthetically blended with the historic downtown area. The project required extensive coordination with BellSouth and the City’s ITS division since each had major underground duct banks existing within the intersection. Special mast arm drilled shafts were designed to avoid the underground fiber optic facilities. The design and construction was completed in four months. The project also included utility coordination, geotechnical investigation, topographical survey, structural design of mast arms and subsurface utility investigation with ground penetrating radar.

CES was the lead design Consultant on this project and Ingram Signalization, Inc. was the Construction Contractor.
